Nicotine vaccine ready for clinical trial in two years

Up to you, but I wouldn't take anything that blocked my brain's capacity to respond to an external stimulus or generally to enjoy things. Wasn't that the idea behind Champix?

This video talks of genetically modifying the liver. No thanks.

The vaccine is currently being tested on mice, rats and primates before clinical trials will take place in around two years' time. More here.

Whatever happened to the precautionary principle?

"Nicotine is produced in the roots of tobacco by the linking of compounds derived from nicotinic acid and putrescine."

"Niacin was first discovered from the oxidation of nicotine to form nicotinic acid. When the properties of nicotinic acid were discovered, it was thought prudent to choose a name to dissociate it from nicotine, in order to avoid the perception that vitamins or niacin-rich food contains nicotine. The resulting name 'niacin' was derived from nicotinic acid + vitamin."

"Niacin is also referred to as Vitamin B3 because it was the third of the B vitamins to be discovered. It has historically been referred to as "vitamin PP", a name derived from the term "pellagra-preventing factor".

THE ABSORPTION OF NIACIN IN THE SMOKING OF CIGARETTES
"The niacin content of unfortified tobacco was found to be 0.13mg. niacin over three fourths of the cigarette."

Pellagra
"Early neurological symptoms associated with pellagra include anxiety, depression, and fatigue; later symptoms include apathy, headache, dizziness, irritability and tremors."

Problem will really start when they bundle the filthy stuff with mmr. It will be virtually compulsory.

Thinking some more about this very disturbing and morally challenging issue. I don't think it's too strong a reaction to put it in the same class as female circumcision. There, I've said it.

Like usual, this is another disgusting, vile, hateful and possibly lethal "final solution" type approach the Anti-Smoking Industry along with its benefactors in Big Pharma are going to try pushing on people, probably by force at the rate liberties and freedom of choice are disappearing. If tobacco companies were accused of selling some risky products, these kinds of products being pushed now by the Anti-Smoker Industry and Big Pharma hate campaigners are probably 100,000x worse than anything tobacco stood accused of doing. Utterly shameful that people won't wake up and see this for what it is, simply disgusting.
