where they have a smoking ban enforcement crisis. Read more ...

It feels just the same as anywhere else, I'm afraid. The elderly and disabled still have to hobble outside in all weathers, and bar staff come rushing anxiously towards you if you take a puff of an e-cig (although they back down and apologise when they realise what it is).
I'm pretty sure that there isn't a smoker in Wandsworth who knew about this before today.
I believe that in Scotland there are no longer any dedicated officers for enforcing the ban. They decided years ago that it wasn't worth it because people observe it for most of the time and there are enough general EHOs to scare everyone into complying.
(except at Ninewells Hospital of course, which is a showcase for their next logical steps)
