MEPs don't have a smoking ban in the workplace

I've seen the room referred to in this article. It has nice big windows and extensive views.

Don't forget the comfy upholstered chairs too. ;)

MEPs should be dragged out and flogged. Hypocrites. They get too much money for rubber stamping the Supreme EUSoviet anyhow and excessive expense allowances they pad to extremes. Either MEPs stop smoking or else smoking bans be overturned for the common man.

This shows beyond doubt what a corrupt law it is. As we are members of the EU, our politicians have no moral authority if they speak out against people flouting the ban.

Pretty much off-topic, I know, but I was just thinking today – what ever happened about that court case that was (supposedly) brewing north of the border, brought by non-smoking prisoners against the Scottish Parliament, for not forcing in a total smoking ban in prisons, thus exposing them to all the “horrors” of ETS? I remember the story breaking about a year ago (and wondering in an amused fashion how on earth the Scottish politicians were going to get out of it), but never heard anything about the outcome.

Anonymous: the story is here. I don't think any update has been reported. http://www.heraldscotland.com/news/home-news/exclusive-passive-smoking-victims-to-challenge-prison-service-1.1082079

Amazing. Not! Typical anti-smoking law, exempt a chamber of the legislature, and screw over all privately-owned businesses permitting smoking in the process of passing a total indoor ban. Think I'll repost on IL Libertarian Dude right now, as I speak.
